Analysis
«Hymn» is a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe. It was sung by the title character in Morella, a short story by Poe. It was first published in Southern Literary Messenger in April 1835. The Poem was published first as «A Catholic Hymn» in the August 16, 1845 issue of Broadway Journal. It is about thanking Mary, mother of Jesus, and hoping for a bright future.
This one stanza poem is made up of twelve lines. It is rhymed in couplets.
I think the poem is saying that he is thinking about his love and now that he has someone and hes not «Alone» (alluding to alone) now he will stop thinking about his gloomy past and present and now he can look at his bright future.
